Dr. Okelo started and runs a clinic in the infamous Nairobi slum of Maasai. As a 10 year old, he watched his sister die from malaria because the local clinic did not have syringes to administer the medicine. At that point he vowed to make a difference.

As a 10 year old, he watched his sister die from malaria because the local clinic did not have syringes to administer the medicine. At that point he vowed to make a difference. He and his wife now run a clinic that provides free healthcare and education to needy children.

As tropical storm Emily crossed the island of Hispanolia, the First Water Disaster Strike Team worked it's way across the Dominican Republic putting water purification systems in the hardest hit areas.

As tropical storm Emily crossed the island of Hispanolia, the First Water Disaster Strike Team worked it's way across the Dominican Republic putting water purification systems in the hardest hit areas. Across the Dominican Republic, there are villages and communities populated by immigrant Haitian workers. These villages are called Bateys. Most all support to these populations of people comes from aid organizations. From medical care to education to clean water, they rely entirely on the work of outsiders for the most basic community infrastructure.

World Vision is on the ground in Irupata, Bloivia to combat this exact problem. Less than half of Bolivia’s families have access to adequate sanitation and the infant mortality rate is one of the highest in South America.
